NBS launches new BIM conference

With the 2016 deadline for the adoption of Level 2 BIM for public projects rapidly approaching, NBS has assembled a line-up of technical specialists for a brand new conference, 'BIM through the Plan of Work'.

Structured around the revised RIBA Plan of Work, the conference will provide a valuable insight into how the information generated can and should be used in the operation and facilities management.

The full-day conference will be divided into four key sessions, each looking at two work stages and each including a key note address following by round table discussions and a 'dummy' project to demonstrate BIM in action. The event will guide delegates through the Plan of Work detailing how to implement and execute a BIM strategy, from the beginning of a project through to its completion.

Speakers from both the public and private sectors are drawn from across the industry and include developers, facilities managers and project managers, as well as architects. Those confirmed to speak include: Malcolm Taylor, Crossrail's Technical Director; Kath Fontana, MD of BAM FM; Steve Thompson, Senior Architect at Tata Steel and Geoff Prudence, Chair of BIM4FM.

The conference, which is supported by the BIM Task Group, is taking place on Wednesday 24th September at Congress Centre, Great Russell Street, London.
