Abstract
The primary aim of the regulations and the approved code of practice is to protect the health of people at work by controlling their exposure to lead and, where such controls cannot reduce exposure to an acceptable low level, to monitor the lead absorption of the individual so they can be removed from work which exposes them to lead before their health has been affected.
