Abstract
Advises on the use of both precast and in-situ domestic ground floors. Site circumstances that necessitate suspended construction are described, and guidance is offered regarding the conditions that might most favour the use of precast floors. Advice is also given on how to specify both in-situ and precast suspended floors, with indicative details of several precast types, making special reference to their structural role, how openings may be formed, services accommodated and surface finishes applied.
