Information Paper 15/89 Electromagnetic compatibility of building services: towards a European standard
Publication Year
1989
Document Status

Abstract
The advanced electronic controls that are now widely used in building services can be affected by electrical noise from sources such as IT equipment, industrial machinery and RF transmitters. To address this problem, BRE has developed an electromagnetic compatibility standard specifically for building services electronics. It sets requirements for minimum levels of immunity to a range of electrical disturbances, and also specifies limits for electromagnetic emissions. The standard is likely to form the basis of a European standard for introduction in 1992, and manufacturers should be designing their products now to meet this.
