Abstract
Intended to remind and inform designers and site supervisory staff of ways of avoiding some of the most troublesome defects which have beset Local Authority housing. This Defect Action Sheet covers unvented domestic hot water storage systems - safety. Failures discussed include explosion of the cylinder; and wastage of expansion water. Defects discussed include system incorrectly installed; and lack of maintenance.
