Abstract
Illuminance is the primary light design parameter and the prediction of illuminance distributions in a space is important, particularly for non-uniform lighting. This paper considers the accuracy which can be achieved using currently available software together with manufacturers' published lamp and luminaire data. Comparisons are made between measurements in a real room and predictions; the degree of calculational detail required is examined.
