Abstract

Describes the complaints usually associated with the 'Sick Building Syndrome'. Describes the symptoms and risk factors, identified from national and international sources, which have been identified as providing a higher prevalence of the complaints. Aims to elucidate the nature of each particular factor and includes guidelines on current good practice. Concludes with a protocol to minimise the symptoms in the form of a checklist which addresses the adequacy of the working environment based on good engineering and management practice. Includes a glossary of relevant medical terms.
