Abstract

Presents an overview of the technology and effectiveness of the application of occupant control to supply air diffusers. Discusses the feasibility of occupant control in terms of technology and economics. Also treats the effectiveness of the technique in providing a more flexible thermal environment. Concludes that the technology is reliable and inexpensive, making use of the established techniques of occupant remote control used for domestic electronic equipment, and that the technique is a powerful method of indoor microclimate control.
