Abstract
Measures the impact sound insulation between a pair of rooms. The steady state 1/3 octave band filtered receiving room sound pressure level is measured while a standardised tapping machine is hammering on the test floor. Determines the receiving room equivalent absorption area and derives the normalised/standardised impact sound pressure level. The results can be used to determine whether floors have met acoustic specifications, e.g. Building Regulations.
