Abstract
Gives basic information on the generation of static electricity in solids, liquids and gases and on persons. Describes how the charges produced give rise to discharges which may cause ignition or electric shocks. Outlines methods available for minimizing generation and for safely dissipating charges including advice on earthing and bonding.
