Abstract
Latest addition to Lord's cricket ground is the Grand Stand, which offers the now standard mix of restaurants, bars and hospitality suites behind and underneath the spectator seating. Restricted construction times led to prefabrication of both steel and concrete elements. The roof consists of two 50m tubular trusses spanning between three steel columns and given extra support from twinned tie rods. Vacuum drainage system, introduced to drain the roof, became the main grey and foul water system. Working details of suspended steel stair and pvc-coated fabric screen. Cost information.
