Abstract
Identifies issues that should be considered to ensure smooth transition and implementation of the Structural Eurocodes. These issues are: the background, objectives and intended status of the Structural Eurocodes; the Eurocode programme, and the differences in presentation compared to National Codes; use of the Eurocodes; implementation; actions to be considered; costs and benefits of harmonisation; and opportunities offered to the professions.
