Abstract
Provides a detailed account of BRE research findings and their significance for appropriate and successful building developments on fill. Part A deals with the engineering behaviour of fills and Part B examines construction on fill. Brief case histories of field performance are presented in Part C. While the report describes experience with fills in the United Kingdom, it has relevance to similar materials found in many parts of the world.
