Abstract
Most flat roofs need surface protection for one reason or another. This may be to protect the surface from oxidisation caused by ultra violet light from the sun, it may be to provide protection from fire from external sources, and some flat roofs are used for regular access either in whole or on designated walkways. The form of surface protection required for a flat roof will depend upon the roof material and the anticipated roof traffic.
