Abstract
The RIBA Outline plan of work is recognised though out the construction industry as a model framework for running a job - it assists in the management of projects and is a basis for office procedures. To reflect recent changes in practice and legislation the RIBA outline plan of work was updated and approved by RIBA council in 1998 and provides the framework for the activities in this details plan - the architect's plan of work. It consists of work stages that represent a logical sequence of activities to be carried out by client, consultants, specialists and contractors. This edition includes activity schedules for a 'fully designed building project' and variants for the procurement of 'Employer's requirements' and of 'Contractor's proposals'.

Supersedes RIBA plan of work for design team operation. There is now a 2007 edition of the Outline Plan of Work.
