Abstract

BSRIA has undertaken research into the requirements of the CDM regulations, with particular reference to the health and safety file for building services installations. This application guide looks at the issues involved in the preparation of the health and safety file and related documents as required by the CDM regulations. The guidance extends beyond the legal minimum to reflect good practice. This guide discusses the management systems that are needed to produce the file, and comments on hazards and risk assessment, before looking in detail at the format and structure of the health and safety file and related documents, and the roles and responsibilities of the various parties involved in their preparation and use.
