Abstract
Introduces several new requirements relating to performance, selection and sprinkler head specification; in particular it introduces a new scheme for the rating and use of sprinkler head thermal sensitivity.

Formed from a merger of the Fire Offices Committee, the Fire Insurers Research and Testing Organisation and the Insurers Technical Bureau in 1984, the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) later went on to develop a certification body, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), itself taken over by BRE Certification in April 2000.
