Abstract

The intention of this Part is to ensure that materials, fittings and components used in the construction of buildings (to the extent that they are subject to the Regulations or where they are used to meet a requirement of the regulations), are suitable for their purpose, are correctly used or applied and are sufficiently durable, taking account of normal maintenance practices, to ensure the health and safety of people.
