Abstract
The intention of the requirements for means of escape is that everyone within a building may reach either a place of safety or, in certain circumstances, a protected zone within a reasonable travel distance. The intention of this Part is to provide all users of a building with adequate means of escape from fire. It also requires the provision of certain fire fighting equipment, means of access for fire-fighting, and means of warning of fire in a dwelling, residential accommodation and enclosed shopping centres.
