Abstract
Defines the basic properties of traffic noise measured at the roadside in terms of a characteristic normalised traffic noise spectrum, which is needed to evaluate single-number ratings, and therefore assessing the acoustic performance, of noise reducing devices, except those used in reverberant conditions such as tunnels.
