Abstract
Covers equipment and systems for particular applications, processes and cold storage facilities. The Refrigeration System Practices section has chapters on liquid overfeed, practices for halocarbon refrigerants, ammonia, moisture and contaminant control, and lubricants. Food Storage and Equipment covers thermal properties of foods, freezing times, commodity storage, microbiology, refrigeration loads, refrigerated facility design, precooling fruits, vegetables and cut flowers, and industrial food freezing. The Food Refrigeration section covers the requirements of all food types. Application chapters cover transpiration, biomedical, piping insulation, ice manufacture, ice rinks, concrete dams, refrigeration in the chemical industry, and low temperature applications. Refrigeration equipment chapters cover absorption, force-circulation, component balancing, refrigerant control devices, retail food store equipment, household refrigerators and freezers, and automatic ice makers. Updated content includes line-sizing tables for new refrigerants.
