Abstract

General ventilation controls heat, odours, and hazardous chemical contaminants that could affect the health and safety of industrial workers. For better control, heat and contaminants should be exhausted at their sources by local exhaust systems, which require lower airflows than general (dilution) ventilation. Chapter 29, Industrial Local Exhaust Systems, supplements this chapter.
