Abstract

Demonstrates that conflict between conservation and sport and recreation can, in almost all cases, be prevented or resolved by good planning and management practice even within designated areas. It will be of use to all those involved in planning and managing the countryside, including local planning authorities, national park authorities, major landowners and managers, amenity and conservation organisations, and the national governing bodies of sport, together with those university and institutes of higher education departments involved in both sport and conservation.
