Abstract
Discusses the issues to be set out in the forthcoming rural white paper, which include the countryside and the environment, economy policy, social policy, transport, agricultural policy, planning and the environment, housing, structure of Government, rural proofing policy, development of a Department of Rural Affairs, Overhauling MAFF, co-ordination with the urban white paper, and movement of population from urban to rural areas.
