Abstract
Presents findings from the social capital module of the general household survey (GHS) 2000/01 which was commissioned by the Health Development Agency (HDA) as part of a larger body of research designed to further our understanding of social capital in terms of its meaning, measurement and links to health within the context of a British population. Sets out the distribution of various indicators of social capital in the population, variation with respect to socio-demographic and geographic factors; and the inter-relationship between the different aspects of social capital. Covers topics of demographic information; household and family information; housing tenure; employment; education; health; and health related behaviours.
