Abstract
The manual LT Method addresses the strategic design decisions, particularly those related to building form, facade design and building use. LT should be used to evaluate the energy performance of a number of design options and to make comparisons. It is a simple manual procedure requiring pencil and calculator, and results are combined onto a single worksheet. Energy breakdowns for heating, lighting, cooling and/or ventilation, will give a picture of the relative importance of various energy components. The Method can be applied to a range of building types including: Schools, Offices, Institutional buildings and Health buildings.
