Abstract
Designed to help local authorities with their local air quality management duties under the Environment Act 1995. It sets out statutory background and legislative frameworks; new principles behind reviews and assessment; designation of air quality management areas; drawing up and implementation of action plans; recommendations and suggestions on the development of local and regional strategies; consultation and liaising with others; local transport measures; and general principles behind air quality and land-use planning.
