Abstract
The housing health and safety rating system is a means of assessing the health and safety risks in dwellings and is designed as a replacement for the current fitness standard (section 604 of the Housing Act 1985 as amended). This report addresses the concerns expressed about the system’s applicability to houses in multiple occupation and how it might fit in with risk assessment, priority planning and enforcement.
