Abstract
Covers the positioning dilemmas encountered when placing signal controls at high speed junctions, centring on the difficult area of stopping space known as the dilemma zone. This is defined by the boundaries of: The distance at which 10% of drivers stop when the signals change to amber, and The distance at which 90% of drivers stop when the signals change to amber.
