Abstract

Stipulates the performance criteria which apply to intumescent (active) fire protection systems for structural steelwork. The structural steelwork is assumed to be loaded to the maximum. permissible stresses specified in British Standard 449-2:1969. The test procedures and heating regime of BS 476-8:1972 or Parts 20 and 21:1987 shall be adopted where appropriate.
