Abstract
Provides guidance measures to protect electronic data processing installations from disturbances arising from power supply variations, electromagnetic radiation, electrostatic discharge and electrical interference transmitted through power and communication lines. The recommendations may also be applied for single or small EDP installations.

Formed from a merger of the Fire Offices Committee, the Fire Insurers Research and Testing Organisation and the Insurers Technical Bureau in 1984, the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) later went on to develop a certification body, the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), itself taken over by BRE Certification in April 2000.
