Abstract
Specification for materials, dimensional and performance requirements for concrete flue blocks for use in system chimneys. The blocks may be of single or multi wall construction. Details are also given for type B (Bonding block) which dimensionally co-ordinates with masonry unit coursing height. Can also be applied to storey-height and reinforced flue blocks.
Document History
Supersedes BS 1289-1:1986 which will be withdrawn in 2005. This document is a candidate harmonized European Standard and takes into account the requirements of EC mandate M105 chimneys.
