Abstract
Sets out the land use planning policies of the Welsh Assembly Government, supplemented by a series of Technical Advice Notes. Procedural advice is given in National Assembly for Wales/Welsh Office Circulars. Together these comprise the national planning policy which should be taken into account by local planning authorities in Wales in the preparation of unitary development plans (UPDs). Looks at the context for planning in Wales. Sets out the main policy objectives and principles. Gives guidance relating to the description of the planning system and its principal procedures. Discusses particular subjects in detail i.e. Housing, Transport and Town Centres.
