Abstract
The Interim requirements for road restraint systems (IRRRS) provides guidance on changes to provision and procurement process for road restraint systems to ensure compliance with EC requirements as set out in BS EN 1317. This interim document has been developed until the new standard is written and formally issued and gives advice for containment performance classes and working width requirements. Section 2 lists standards which are wholly or partly replaced in accordance with section 3.
Document History
Interim Advice Notes (IANs) are issued by the Highways Agency from time to time. They contain specific Guidance, which shall only be used in connection with works on motorways and trunk roads in England, subject to any specific implementation instructions contained within an IAN. Whilst IANs must be read in conjunction with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) for the above works, and may incorporate amendments or additions to documents in these manuals, they are not part of the DMRB or MCHW. Refers to DMRB and MCDHW various. To be read in conjunction with IAN 55/04.
