Abstract
Offers guidance about the alterations and adaptations to non-residential buildings that can be made to allow better access for disabled people to existing buildings. This will also improve access for all who need to use the building. Covers legislation, user needs, management, communications and wayfinding, historic buildings, case studies. Part 2 details the design guidance of external approach, entrances, reception, horizontal and vertical circulation, lighting, colour and acoustics, services, evacuation and facilities.
