Abstract
Gives general guidance on the application of the regulations and refers to RIAI standard documentation, which should be used at all stages of implementation of the regulations. Reflects the experience gained since the introduction of the 1995 regulations and has helped develop provisions of the RIAI preliminary health and safety plan, which it should be read in conjunction with.

This document should be used in conjunction with the RIAI Preliminary health and safety plan pack, a required set for the project supervisor to administer their duties under the Safety, health and welfare (construction) regulations 2001 (SI 2001/481).
