Abstract
An enclosure around bridge deck support steelwork provides an additional method of protecting the steel against corrosion. This Standard gives the requirements for evaluating and designing enclosures of bridges. It applies when designing enclosures for the structural steel elements below deck level of any type of bridge, whether as a method of reducing future maintenance costs or of improving access, or both.
