Abstract

Presents the main features and benefits of a range of steel-intensive construction technologies applicable to the residential building sector: composite construction, 'Slimdek', 'Slimflor', light steel framing, modular construction and light steel separating walls. Supported by examples. Describes aspects influencing design of buildings, like regulatory requirements, aspects of compliance with these regulations, and how to achieve robustness in structure.
