Abstract
The Interim requirements for road restraint systems (IRRRS) provides information and guidance on changes to the provision and procurement process in relation to road restraint systems (vehicle and pedestrian) to ensure compliance with BS EN 1317-1 to 3 and DD ENV 1317-4:2002. Also introduces IRRRS Revision 1, which contains changes to technical and safety advice.
Document History
Interim Advice Notes (IANs) are issued by the Highways Agency from time to time. They contain specific Guidance, which shall only be used in connection with works on motorways and trunk roads in England, subject to any specific implementation instructions contained within an IAN. Whilst IANs must be read in conjunction with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) for the above works, and may incorporate amendments or additions to documents in these manuals, they are not part of the DMRB or MCHW. Refers to DMRB and MCDHW various. To be read in conjunction with IAN 55/04. This revised IAN takes immediate effect and supersedes IAN 44/02 (revision 2) issued in August 2004.
