Abstract
The Code of Practice provides practical guidance as to the observance of Regulations 3 to 6 and 21 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2001 (S.I. No. 481 of 2001). This requires that adequate precautions are to be taken in any excavation, shaft, earthwork, underground works or tunnel to avoid risk to persons at work arising from possible underground dangers such as underground cables, gases or fluids.
