Document History
Interim Advice Notes (IANs) are issued by the Highways Agency from time to time. They contain specific Guidance, which shall only be used in connection with works on motorways and trunk roads in England, subject to any specific implementation instructions contained within an IAN. Whilst IANs must be read in conjunction with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) for the above works, and may incorporate amendments or additions to documents in these manuals, they are not part of the DMRB or MCHW. Refers to DMRB and MCDHW various. To be read in conjunction with IAN 55/04. This revised IAN takes immediate effect and supersedes amendment No.1 of IAN 44/05 issued in February 2005. For reference purposes, the previous versions of this IAN 44 have been: i) IAN 44/02 (Original) dated August 2002. ii) IAN 44/02 (Revision 1) dated August 2003. iii) IAN 44/02 (Revision 2) dated June 2004. iv) IAN 44/05 (Revision 3) dated 20th January 2005. v) IAN 44/05 Amendment No 1 dated 3rd Feb 2005.
