Planning-gain supplement: a consultation

Publication Year

2005

Document Status

Withdrawn

Abstract

Launches a consultation on the Government's proposal for a planning-gain supplement. The focus of the consultation is how increases in land value created by planning decisions can be released more effectively to help finance the infrastructure needed to stimulate and service growth and ensure that local communities better share in the benefits that growth brings.

Document History

No longer applicable as Government decided to implement a Community Infrastructure Levy instead of planning-gain supplement. Consultation closed on 27 February 2006. Published in conjunction with HM Revenue & Customs and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. To be read with Government response to Kate Barker's review of housing supply: the supporting analysis (ODPM, 2005); Affordability targets: implications for housing supply (includes technical annex) and A sustainability impact study of additional housing scenarios in England (both ODPM, 2005).
