Abstract
Provides an opportunity to comment on how the next rural development programme for England could be used to make a real difference in rural areas by safeguarding and enhancing rural environment and fostering thriving rural communities. The rural development programme is the framework used in England to distribute funds from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. Funding from the European Union is matched by funding from the Government.
