Abstract

Relates to the Disability Discrimination (Premises) Regulations 2006. SI 2006/887. From 4 December 2006 the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995, as amended by the DDA 2005, places landlords and those who manage rented premises under a duty in certain circumstances to make adjustments for disabled people who are either tenants or occupiers of those rented premises. The Regulations support implementation of this new duty by prescribing a number of things, for example, what should (and should not) be treated as a physical feature, and by making provision for the duty to apply to commonholds.

Document History

No longer applicable as SI 2006/887 superseded by SI 2010/2128.
