Publication Year
2006
Document Status
Withdrawn
Abstract
Gives guidance on how vegetated drainage systems may be used to convey, store and treat highway runoff. They are described as vegetated drainage systems because they contain a significant element of vegetation and they are designed for use especially in highway drainage networks. They are similar to systems described elsewhere as Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS). Designers should note that not all SUDS are appropriate for highway use.

Superseded by CD 532 Vegetated drainage systems for highway runoff (formerly HA 103/06) (HE, 2020). Design manual for roads and bridges (DMRB). 4.2.1. Old series - DMRB Departmental Advice Notes (Highways). Supersedes HA 103/01.
