Abstract
Describes how the land use planning process can be used most effectively to deliver sustainable waste management and resource recovery within the London context. Also focuses on the need to plan for new waste management facilities, given shortfalls in predicted capacity requirements for London and addresses the planning issues associated with the management (collection and transfer, processing, re-use, recycling, treatment, disposal and re-manufacture) of all types of controlled waste (municipal, commercial and industrial, construction and demolition, hazardous, non-hazardous and inert).
