Abstract
Describes industry best practice relating to the principal types of heating, cooling and ventilation systems commonly used in Europe. Intended for maintenance contractors and organisations with the relevant expertise to carry out their own maintenance, by providing a contractual standard against which to evaluate and enforce adequate standards.

Now known as Building and Engineering Services Association. The Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association represented those responsible for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration products and equipment. HVCA changed name to the Building and Engineering Services Association (B&ES) on Thursday 1 March 2012.
