Abstract
Looks at smoke and heat control systems including their selection. Covers vehicle exhaust pollution control, natural dispersal smoke ventilation, conventional mechanical extraction methods, impulse ventilation for achieving smoke clearance, assisting fire-fighting access and as a means to protect means of escape. Also looks at smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems (SHEVs), ductwork, fixings and smoke dampers, controls and power supplies.
