Abstract
Sets out recommendations to ensure that the planning system better supports economic growth, while maintaining or enhancing delivery of wider objectives, including ensuring community involvement, supporting local democracy and protecting and enhancing the environment. The key themes are: enhancing the responsiveness of the system to economic factors; improving the efficiency of the system to reduce the costs associated with delivering desired outcomes; and ensuring that there is an appropriate use of land.
