Abstract
The principal purpose of the Amendment Regulations is to amend the requirements in respect of Part B of Schedule 1 to the Building Regulations 2000 (“the Building Regulations”), to introduce requirements for the provision of fire safety information, to authorise a number of new competent person self-certification schemes and to require local authorities to consider whether the requirements of regulation 17C of the Building Regulations have been satisfied before issuing a completion certificate. The Amendment Regulations also make minor amendments to the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations (“the Approved Inspectors Regulations”).
